SIM Console hanging

I'm running IE 6.0 on Windows XP SP1 and my IE connection to the SIM server hangs a couple of times a day. I end up killing IE and restarting again. I log back onto the console and it works fine again. I have even upgrade JRE on the workstation to the latest available version with same results. Anyone having the same problem?

Remove all versions of JRE you have installed and when prmpted, install the one from the SIM server. Also perform a reboot after you uninstall the others.

One of the first things I tried and it did not resolve the problem.
