SIM does not display serial number

I have installed the management tools for an HP Netserver LP1000r and this is displayed in SIM correctly.

However, the serial number comes up as unsupported. If I go to the management homepage on the server and select the diagnostics page the serial number is displayed.

The agent is the HP Insight Diagnostics version 7.4.0.1570A dated Aug 9-2005, but why doesn't HP SIM pick it up??!

I have no experience with LP1000r-hardware. However, I noticed that Hp Rack and Enclosure data were not available with the default HPSIM5-install. This is because in the HPSIM-install the MIB's of Support Pack 7.20 or 7.30 (one of both, don't know exactly which) were included. You have to download and install the 7.40 MIB's on your HPSIM-server to see the Rack and Enclosure statuses correctly. Maybe this also helps to get the correct info from your LP1000r.

On the other hand, I also don't get a serial from a HP Storageworks MSL5030 Tape Library.
