Can I setup a Event filter to only see degraded/failed disks that I could run?

Looking at the Events will just show a history of any faile disk events, not necessarily current failed disks.

To do that you could just look at All Important Events and sort by Event Type.

There's no generic report that gives an overall look at the status of a disk.

A failed disk should reflect on the overall hardware status of the Server.

In the Win32 version you would see a degraded server, when you clicked on the server you would see a degraded Mass storage device.

This was a great way to check servers for failed disks.

On CIM7 you could query for Failed or degraded disk events.

My highest concern with monitoring servers is their internal disk arrays.

You can do the same thing with HP SIM - you can create an Event List (same as a Query) that displays all the storage events.

Also, if a Raid Array becomes degraded then this is reflected in HPSIM as the Server status shows degraded and you can drill down to see the component.

The only case where this is not the case is on SAN Connected storage, you still see the Array Controller showing as degraded but you cannot drill down to the disk device. But that's true of CIM 5 as well I think.
