SIM exclusion range size limit????

We have an issue trying to remove some systems from our SIM console. I have added numerous entries to the exclusion list and the servers are re-discovered again when the automatic discovery job is run. It is as though the exclusion list is being ignored! Is there a limit to how many entries can be added to the exclusion list?
