SIM installation.
I was doing a SIM 4.1 installation on a windows 2003 with all the hot foxes installed.
The box was a HP desktop. The installation will complete for all the components except for PMP. It will fail with "aborted. fail to initialize the database" & deinstall. Log file indicated some kind of logon failure. MSDE was installed for mixed mode. Deinstalled allthe SIM components & msde.
Deleted all the directories. Installed SQL 2000/SP2. SIM still failed the same way. Checked the databases & found the PMPV3 database created. I deinstalled SIM & cleaned the server. Deinstalled all the hotfixes & started the SIM installation. It failed the same way.
I rebuild the server with W2K3 & no hotfixes & completed the SIM installation with out any problem. This is the second time I have failed to install SIM on W2K3 with all the hotfixes.
Has any one completed the SIM installation on W2K3 with all the hotfixes installed?
Do we know which hotfix breaks the installation?
Is any one running SIM on a W2K3 server with all the hotfixes installed?
