SIM not connecting

I have exactly the same issue can someone help us with this I think it is to do with the connection to SQL database. I have tried rebooting restarting SQL and SIM services and checked for event logs but can't find anything.

I too am having problem with logging into HP SIM v4.2. I recently installed v4.1 SP1 and could not login with that version, even after applying the patch that refers to login problems with IE and a particular MS Security patch. I then downloaded and applied the upgrade of HP Sim v4.2 SP1(?)... Anyways, I still have the same login problem - the Web page may paint the top portion of the page, and the Java IRE will load. Down at the bottom of the IE page the progress bar will go to about 50 % and stop! Nothing else will happen. The IE window will appear locked-up and as far as Task mgr is concerned - the program is not responding! Can you HELP???
