SIM server and GbE2 switch

Hi - I have enabled SNMP on a GbE2 switch, the trap IP is set to point to the SIM server. Now, every night when the Daily System Identification task runs on the SIM server, it tries to login to the GbE2 switch using the BBI (browser-based interface). It fails to login and generates a Major event in the logs. I cannot find out as to why the SIM server is trying to login using the BBI. BTW, WBEM is disabled globally.
Any help is appreciated.
