sim4.2 installation fail

I am just installing the sim4.2 in a dl380 server with win2003 standard server. I followed all the default installation instruction and use the msde database. After the installation of insight manager, it pop up a window says the database initialization is failed. please help

Did you install MSDE through Windows Terminal Service - is MSDE running? Use the "Console" switch to connect when installing MSDE.

mstsc.exe -V:192.168.1.100 /F -console

it turned out that the nic is not configured properly.
