Smart Array 30

I have just installed th HP Insight Manager and through auto discovery have all my servers listed.

Two of my servers have smart array 30 storage boxes directly attached, is there a plugin or other bit of software required to gain more information about each disk in the storage array.

At present it just tells me I have x amount of TB available.

I eventually would liek an early warning of individual disk failiures.

Run data collection task after enabling WBEM. You should get more data.

WBEM will not give you any data since the devices are "hidden" from the OS by the RAID controller. If the ProLiant Support Pack is properly installed you should see both physical and logical drives and the controller in the agents. What exactly are you seeing?

I am actually seeing two seperate things:-

On one proliant box I see just the total disk space and no details of any of the disks, on the other I can see details of each disk on a different looking page titled System Management Home Page for serverx.

I have not as yet loaded the support packs into the Insight manager and deployed them to the servers, would this give me more details and allow me to monitor their health status.?

Yes it would. When you deploy the PSP, the different agents that are needed by your server (NIC agent, Storage Agent, Server agent etc) gets installed which is capable of giving HPSIM a good amount of data that would be helpful for you.
