Smart Update Manager

Everytime I launch SUM, it crashes. The following is logged in the application log:

Description:
Faulting application SourceClient.exe, version 1.5.0.0, faulting module SourceClient.exe, version 1.5.0.0, fault address 0x00057065.
=============

this is preventing me from connecting to the repository and installing software on re-built servers.

As I am not all too familiar with Insight Manager and related HP tools, I am hoping someone can give me a clue as to where to look.
