SNMP setup problem

SNMP setup problem

Every time I specify the HPSIM server name in "Accept SNMP packets from those hosts" area in the SNMP Security tab on a managed server, I can't config VCRM. I have to select "Accept SNMP packets from all hosts" to make VCRM configuration work. I don't have to do accept all hosts in CIM 7. Do I miss anything? I can specify the HPSIM servername in Trap destination without problem. Thanks for the advices.

Re: SNMP setup problem

make sure that when you set the hosts, you also set "localhost" as it needs to read back to itself. This is probably why it works when you are setting to allow from any host.

Re: SNMP setup problem

Greetings. HP/Compaq recommends to also on your "clients" to also include the localhost of 127.0.0.1 so that they too can check themselves out etc...

Re: SNMP setup problem

Thanks. It works on my all non-DMZ servers.
But I have trouble setup DMZ servers. Please refer to my new message. Thanks.
