snmp
Does the snmp community have to be read/write to get all the functionality of sim or can it be read only. We are trying to ensure that we can centrally update and change strings on a regular basis and GPO's only allow for read only strings. Any recommendations would be great.
Thanks

Re: snmp
You muste be READ\Write or READ\CREAT, if you put READ only there many item will not be able to do(ex: intergrate log, you will not be able to mark item has repare,ect...to many item for trouble)

Re: snmp
Dan is almost right...The Insight agents require the presence of Read-Write or Read-Create (the same as Read-Write in Microsoft SNMP) for proper operation. A write string is necessary to set disk thresholds, clear the IML, and for inter-agent communications. HP SIM does NOT use a write string across the wire--all of its "write" operations are accomplished via HTTPS.
