storage essentials 5.0

Hi,
I my version of storage essentials got destoryed due to someone applying incorrect updates and now I am forced to reinstall it. I have the following senario.

EVA6000 with the following firmware
VCS: 5.031
Disk firmware: 5.100

Windows 2003 Management server running command view eva 5.0.208

I have successfully followed the instructions and installed the oracle database and installed storage essentials. I was not successful installing system insight manager though and also cannot discover my eva. When I do a discovery of everything it finds the eva b/c of the name service in my switches but that is it. I am sorry for the broad question but the installation instructions are not very good. Do I have to have HP SIM installed, SNMP enabled, and also does the management server need the CIMx? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
