I am trying to access the Manager Agent
on an MS box. The System Administrator page comes up, but there are only 3 options for login: administrator, operator and user.
We are trying to access this page, Unfortunately the passwords
are lost. The docs mention some
defaults, but we have had no success.
Short of re-installing the app, are there any options available to us to reset the passwords? I have found the acl page holdint the passwords. The Manager Agent front-end is running on an MS 2000 box, while I am using a
Tru64Unix box to access SNMP data on an MS box.
Thank You

Re: System Insight Manager
Hello,
Thanks for the reply,
I looked at my SIM, and I see a Configure
Pull-Down, but no Repair...I searched for a
configure and repair with no identified
results. Any leads on where I can find this
utility?
Thanks much....

Re: System Insight Manager
You might try logging in with the Installation account and see if you get the menu options.

SolutionIf you have a Server where you do know the password to the Administrator logon then you can copy the c:\compaq\wbem\cpqhmmd.acl file from this server to the problem one.
Not sure what you mean by the last bit, SNMP access would be controlled by the SNMP Service Properties on the MS Box and as regards access from the Unix box, the agent would not be involved.
Finally if the above process cannot be used you will need to redeploy. The Agents can be configured before they're deployed.

Re: System Insight Manager
Hello,
Thanks again for the replies...
I am using SIM 4.1 on a Windows 2000 box.
Thanks for the tip on moving the .acl file....that is a good idea...
and should address one of the problems.....
I wonder if that fix will work for
Tru64Unix as well??
Thank You

Re: System Insight Manager
Hello,
Thank you all for your replies. It hit the nail on the head.
We are looking to get the 4.2SP2 version for our Tru64Unix boxes.
