Systems Insight Event ID 3

SInce a few days I get the following event logged in W2K3 with Systems Insight Manager:

Source: HP Systems Insight Manager
Type: Error
Category: none
EVent ID: 3

"com.hp.mx.database.DbVerificationException: Problem initializing the database.
com.hp.mx.database.DbVerificationException: Authentication type should be host or dbms. We cannot initialize the database"

This occurs shortly after I start the Systems Insight Manager service and continues every few minutes.

Cheers

Re: Systems Insight Event ID 3

Hallo,

same issue at our Systems Insight Manager 6.3 since 4 weeks.

Also since then HP Systems Insight Manager shows no date on web interface until a service restart was made.

After service restart it comes up with orphan events.

Is there a solution or workaround in place?

Re: Systems Insight Event ID 3

Did the system cred change on the SIM server or SQL Server database change?  Also were the permissions or rights on the account changed?

Re: Systems Insight Event ID 3

can you ping the database via name (fqdn) or instance?

Re: Systems Insight Event ID 3

Database server and clusterresource is reachable via ping.

Following Errors occur in application event log again and again

HP Systems Insight Manager started.

2 entries fixed in TABLE noticeXMLData

Pass 1

ERROR: TABLE noticeXMLData KEY noticeId may contain 2 entrie(s) not in table notices KEY noticeId

HP Systems Insight Manager Service Started

HP Systems Insight Manager Service Stopped

Re: Systems Insight Event ID 3

So what missing information are we missing? Was this DB restored or XML data imported or updated via select update statement? Have you performed a DBCC on the DB?

Re: Systems Insight Event ID 3

As I remember nothing has been changed, restored or updated on system nor SQL-cluster. Maybe there was an Update within RSSWM which impacts HP Systems Insight Manager?

There are no entries available on left pane where browsing options has to be in place know as "System and Event Collections" nor on main pane.

Re: Systems Insight Event ID 3

Have you logged a support case already on this item?  if not, can you and post the case #?

Have you looked at disk space, I'm assuming you have plenty of space on both your SIM server and the db server?

Re: Systems Insight Event ID 3

Hallo,

no there is no support case logged for this.

I´ve checked hard disk drives on SIM and SQL-cluster there is more than 20 GB free space on each so I don´t think this will be the problem.

FYI

I have stopped HP VMM service on SIM, since than some errors are logged in Application Log but SIM is running whithout any blank frames in web interface.
