TopTools Card - Netserver relation SIM 4.1
Now for my question: We still have a lot of old NetServers wich we want to manage in SIM. These NetServers have TopTools adapters. Both the Server and the TopTools adapter are recognised correctly after configuring, but SIM does not recognise wich TopTools card is in which server.
The name of the card in SIM does not appear as "srv01tt in srv01" for example. (But just as srv01tt.) When I look at the corresponding server srv01 is has a ? in the MP column.
One time, just after a discovery ran a few TopTools cards were correctly regognised, but some time later the relation was gone again...
Can anyone explain how SIM should find this relationship or give any other kind of advice?
(I have attached a picture where you can see how it is on NetServers, and how it should be. (Like on the Proliants.)

Re: TopTools Card - Netserver relation SIM 4.1
I really need to know what the criteria are for SIM to identify a TopTools/(R)ILO(E) Adapter in a specific server!
Thanks.

Re: TopTools Card - Netserver relation SIM 4.1
I just want to alert you to the fact that the MIB files for Netservers in IM7 & HPSIM are very very wrong.
Even if you get all you devices discovered correctly important messages like disk failures will get un noticed because they are sent as "informational" instead of "major".
Second problem is that the toptools agents stop collecting info&alerts when the logfiles are full instead of just rotating the logfiles.
Time to really upgrade to new hardware ...

Re: TopTools Card - Netserver relation SIM 4.1
About the MIB issue, yes I've noticed. To "solve" this I manually changed the Severity of a lot of traps. Also I had to mannualy register an additional MIB. (hptrap.mib)
Thanks for your reply, however I would still like an answer to my original question, because it should just work. (And did a few times.
