Unable to complete Data Collection
I have noticed a lot of minor events with the following description - "The Data Collection task did not complete. The target system may not be running a supported instrumentation protocol, such as SNMP, WBEM or DMI."
Can anyone tell me what needs to be configured to resolve this?
Many thanks
Keith

Re: Unable to complete Data Collection
I'm having the same problem on a lot of my servers even though they all have the same SNMP configuration. Did you figure this one out?

Re: Unable to complete Data Collection
In the Global Protocol Settings page(Options->Protocol Settings->Global Protocol Settings), there will be 4 protocols listed (WBEM,SNMP,HTTP/HTTPS,DMI) that HPSIM will make use to collect data from the managed nodes. By default all these protocols will be enabled. If you are sure that *all* your managed nodes doesn't use any of those protocols then uncheck them. In case you have a diverse group of systems where you can't generalise the usage of the protocols then make use of the System Protocol Settings (Options->Protocol Settings->System Protocol Settings) and specify the prtocols that HPSIM should make use to collect data.
