Unmanaged server

Running SIM version 7.10 - have installed onto the following ok:
ml370,dl380,dl360 and 5500.

However still have some servers showing as either umanaged or unknown - even though they are the same type of server as above.

Any ideas??

Re: Unmanaged server

I assume you are talking about System management Homepage. If yes,

Possible reason for the "System Model: Unknown" problem is SNMP settings. Can you check if the SNMP service is running and also has proper community string set?.

Can you restart the SNMP service and Management Agents on that system and also the HP System Management Homepage ? This should resolve this problem.

If you are talking about Device product type shown as "unknown" in HPSIM, then do the same thing above and then rediscover the device in HPSIM. Hope it works..

Thanks,
Hari

Re: Unmanaged server

I think, problem is with windows default SNMP settings - "destination address" - default accept only from localhost. You have to change this and add IP address of your SIM server.

Re: Unmanaged server

Same issues here... System Model: unknown -- have case open with HP.

It is not SNMP settings -- they are all correct. 7.20a PSP is buggy and not been tested throughly for upgrading older agents.
