Up/Down paging

I am trying to get a simple server down page followed by a server up page. How do I get HPSIM to do this? Under CIM32, this was very easy/straightforward, but no luck so far under HPSIM.

The problem I have is catching the outage.

I added a new Hardware Polling task, Ping Only and set the polling interval down to 1 minute.

This catches the quick Server reboots.

Then use the Automatic Event Handling wizard under Options / Events and create a Page when the Severity is Critical. That will catch it going down.
Not too sure of the best way to catch it coming back up, other than catch the Informational Event associated with something like the Agents Restart.

I got the server down paging to work, but no such luck on when it comes back up. Anyway know the process for this?

Configure an Event Handling Task to fire on a Selected Event.

Select From System Insight Manager Events and Select System Is Reachable Event.

This will fire when a System becomes Reachable.
However, it may also fire when a new device gets discovered.

ok, I see what you are talking about, but I know have another problem. When I click next to go from step 2 to step 3 (selet systems) I get a runtime error (line 662, object doesn't support this property or method). I have tried from the HPSIM console and several workstations with the same results. Any ideas?
