update vca agent

Hi,

we have migrate to a new SIM server, but the VCA clients are still pointing to the old server, how do I deploy the new agent which points to the new server(repository)

thanks

Re: update vca agent

From the System Management Homepage, (https://127.0.0.1:2381/) (on the local machine)
hit your HP Version Control Agent,
hit change agent settings,
enter the name of the VCRM and the account credentials. I have had problems using Administrator, so I usually do it as Operator (should work with the password you supplied during your Smart Start build).

Hope that helps,

Re: update vca agent

thanks for that,

but I need to change it for 200 servers, I was wondering if there is an automatic way to do it.

can you install the latest vca client silent, or is there another way to modify the vca settings for all systems at once ?

thanks

If you you are running HP SIM then you might try the Replicate Agent settings feature. To be honest off the top of my head I do not recall if the repository is one of the settings you can replicate, it should be though :).

Re: update vca agent

Greetings. The HPSIM can and will replicate the agent settings for the VCA, takes a few minutes to configure the "replicate agents" but it does work.

Another option if possible is to change the DNS entry name for the original VCRM to the new server, or change the old server name, then use the old name as an alias etc.
