Updating agents

This might be a dumb question, but I have not been able to update the agents on remote servers. Do I need to login remotely and download the support pack and install or can it be done centrally?

Thanks

Re: Updating agents

You can do it centrally using HPSIM, if you have many devices.

Install HPSIM. Discover all the machines that you want to update agents. create a list that contain only devices that you want to upgrade.

If the target servers do not have agents installed earlier, then there is a "Initial ProLiant Supportpaq install" under deploy menu in HPSIM.

If you have agents already installed on those servers, then do a Software deployment using "Install Software firmware task" ( You need to have Version control agent installed on the target servers and pointing to a VCRM that contains Latest PSP in the repository. ). This task will send deployment command to the target VCA and the PSP is installed.

Cheers!

Re: Updating agents

Are these remote servers in the same domain as you?

If you do not wish to use SIM you will need to be authenicated either by domain or by mapping a drive to the the target server. Once you are mapped, run the setup file in the PSP directory and point it at the remote server.

I would use SIM though. it is very handy...
