Re: USING SQLEXPRESS 2005
What is the version of the HP SIM and the SP?
Support for SQL Server 2005 was introduced with hp SIM 5.0 SP5.
SQL Server 2005 Express Edition may not supported as of now with SIM 5.0 SP5.
If you feel if it is something to do with the port then you could change the port by editing the file database.props found under
Modify the line hp.Database.portnumber=
Then, Restart the HP Systems Insight Manager service and the HP Virtual Machine Management Service service, if installed.
Hope this answers!!!!

rmn

Windows Central Management Server
In the software there is BIG comment in BLEU:

Re: USING SQLEXPRESS 2005
if it be the latter then you are incorrect as i mentioned i have it running on a test machine. the only difference is that I installed the Express version first then full SQL. it WORKS.
If i install SQL Full, then SQL Express then SIM, it DOES NOT WORK.

Re: USING SQLEXPRESS 2005
No Silver bombs here.........
You have already proved that it can be installed but with a different procedure.
Then why not try the same thing on this server as well.
I think this may be something to do with dependencies with the SQL2005 full version and the SQLEXPRESS 2005.
Not sure about that!!! not tried it personally.
