VCA Error

VCA Error

I have 31 Servers, 3 of which are having the same problem with the VCA. I have tried re-installing, and even forcing a downgrade to the VCA and still have the same prob. The installed version is the latest avail with PSP 7.30A. All of them are configured properly, the agent service is running, but for the life of me I can't get these three servers to validate. This is the error:

Error obtaining inventory

The Version Control Agent encountered an error while obtaining the software and firmware inventory.

SNMP: The request timed-out. 7/25/2005 12:39:25 PM An error occurred while performing an operating system specific operation.

Re: VCA Error

Looks like SNMP community string is missing. Try specifying SNMP community string.

Re: VCA Error

I get the same error on one machine. And this is one out of 100 hp servers. I have uninstalled and re-installed the agents and can not get it to fix itself. My SNMP is all correct.

I get in my application log Event ID (3072) in source (Foundation Agents) cannot be found.

Have not found any good information on this event yet.

This server was originally on a Dell Poweredge 4400, and we did a NT Backup and restored it on the new box and I pushed the 7.4 support pack. The server is running Windows 2000 SP4.

Anyone else got an idea on this.
