VCA incorrectly indicating available updates?
We have a few servers that are indicating an available update where in fact that update does not want to install.
This does not appear to be the earlier problem of listing upgrades required for hardware that is not there. In this case, the hardware is there, but the lastest versions will not install.
for instance;
ML570 (G1) with W2K3, with 2 NC3123 Nics
in the SMH an upgrade requirement is indicated and a quick look at its VCA page indicated that more recent version of the NIC driver and the HP Network Config Util are available.
HP Network Configuration Utility for Windows Server 2003
Installed
8.60.0.0
PSP 7.90a
8.70.0.0
Latest version
8.80.0.0
HP NC31xx Fast Ethernet NIC Driver for Windows Server 2003
installed
8.0.43.0
PSP 7.90a
8.0.43.0
Latest version
8.0.45.0
Yet when I try to install each of the latest versions I get the error message that the software is installed but does not need to be installed.

Re: VCA incorrectly indicating available updates?
Unfortunately all I could find to do for this was to install newer NICS. The new NICS supported the latest available software, and thus no more problem. This was a poor solution and hopefully someone can add a better solution in the future.
