VCA ver. 2.1.0.720 problems after install

After I install psp7.2 and vca 2.1.0.720, the new version of the VCA does not function. I get dr. watson errors on every logon and cannot access the VCA screen in IE. I have found that un-installing and replacing with the older version of VCA (2.0.7.10) makes it work again.

Has anyone seen this error before? Is there a fix?

Notes: Problem servers are Windows 2003 Ent. I have upgraded 25 servers with psp7.2 and only 4 servers have this problem. Un-install, re-install of vca, and entire psp, does not fix the issue.

Errors in the eventlog:

Chris,
I've not seen this but it's the second problem I've seen with this version that requires retreating back a version.
The one that I've encountered is where there's an older version of libeay32.dll in the system32 directory. The vca service does not start.

Re: VCA ver. 2.1.0.720 problems after install

i have had the same problem
vca 2.1.0.720 does not start after update to psp 7.20a
i followed the hint in the first reply regarding an issue with versions of libeay32.dll
only free downloadable version i found was 0.9.4.0, no luck in sp1 for w2k3-server
installed was 0.9.6.10, depending to a up and working IIS
changed down lib... to 0940, same error!
renamed actual running libeay32.dll
uninstalled vcagent and cleared the registry
reboot and installed vca
it seems to work from here, i´m now in clinch with these webadmins, wether they need the open source ssl-library or not :

I've actually had this and un-installed 7.20a from the Win2003 box, restarted it, then reinstalled 7.30a, seems to solve the issue. Good luck!
