Version Control Repository Manager 2.1.3.740

Hi everybody,

I did a clean install of SIM 5 (uninstalled SIM 4.2 SP2 and all components before install) with the version control repository manager (version 2.1.3.740). After discovering my systems in SIM and running the Software Version Status Polling task, I did a manual update of the catalog (Update from hp.com now). This results in the following error:

Error for file: C:\hp\hpsmh\data\webapp-data\vcrepository\catalog.xml
Error code: 2147500037
End tag 'head' does not match the start tag 'META'.

Opening this xml it shows information from my previous Version Control Repository Manager installation.

Any idea on how to fix this?

After renaming the two XML files in the folder named catalog.xml and catalogindex.xml to catalog.old and catalogindex.old restarting the vcrm service and doing a manual update the same error is reported in the vcrm log.

VCRM will Download two Catalog.xml files one after other, the 1st will be around 6MB and the 2nd will be less than 1MB

So, as soon as you click on the "Update from hp.com now" goto "C:\hp\hpsmh\data\webapp-data\vcrepository" and see if it downloads the 6MB file 1st.

then you can make sure the problem is with which catalog.xml file.

I can perform Update without any problem.

I put the old xml files in a different folder and clisked update now again. Watching the folder:

The firs file which appears is the catalogindex.xml of 5 kb, after that i takes a while (20-30 sec) and the catalog.index appears, this is 74 KB. After that the same error appears in the vcrm log.

I'm have the same problem right now. Do you solved the Problem?

First it loads the catalogindex.xml file (6KB) then the catalog.xml file (127KB).

Hi Dominik Meier,

VCRM will download catalogindex.xml & two catalog.xml files, when you perform "update from hp.com" this is not a problem.

What is the error you are getting in VCRM?
