Very slow SIM
I installed the SIM 4.2 and it seemed to be working fine. The only thing I´m wondering that this application is really slow. I would say it takes about 3-5 minutes to show me the results I want to see. For example if I would like to see "All Systems" I can go away and have a coffee. There only comes up this grey Java box with the loading symbol. Does it always take so long to load the pages??
Could it be that I have to restrict the size of RAM which the SQL Server wants to take?
Does anyone know how to fix this.
Thank

Re: Very slow SIM
it´s a Compaq Pro Lian ML370 with 2x800 Mhz and 1,5 GB RAM where the SIM 4.2 is running on.
It´s a normal Win2K System. I did the typical installation of the SIM so everthing should be fine. The only thing I changed is the directora of the repository. I changed it to an other partition. The JAVA Version which is running is 1.4.1_04 and the SNMP traps are set up as default.
There are only 5 Servers which I´m currently monitoring in my testinvironment. Later if to check more than 40.
Do you think it could be the Jave version??
Thanks for you

Re: Very slow SIM
Do you have a proxy configured in your browser? I have seen that be an issue, especially when the exclusion list does not specifically exclude the HP SIM server.
Also, make sure that forward and reverse DNS are both working for the HP SIM server and the station you are browsing from.

Re: Very slow SIM
I have seen this problem before. You should try to reconfigure SIM Agents on the servers. SNMP secutity, Trap Configuration ...
