Re: View all servers with temperature

Any server in an overtemp condition will have sent a trap and that will be reflected in ES column and also will be reflected in HW column.

Re: View all servers with temperature

Thanks for your fast reply.

One question I still have:

what is "ES column + HW column" .....

Re: View all servers with temperature

They are columns in any of the default collections (e.g. "All Systems" or "All Servers") in HP SIM. ES = Event Summary and HW = Hardware [status]

Re: View all servers with temperature

All of these servers have multiple temperature sensors, so you would have a variable number of metrics to display. Additionally, the sensors only are meaningful in the context of the threshold.

In other words, say you only had one sensor and like in your example it said:

SERVER1 34
SERVER2 33
SERVER3 34

...what does that really mean? Should you conclude that everything is okay, or does something need attention? You only know that in the context of the threshold.

What if the threshold for Server1 and Server3 was 42 and for Server2 was 30?

That's why the intelligent management agents on ProLiant ML/DL 300/500/700 and ProLiant BL servers have the ability to monitor this and express it in terms of systems health. The idea is to provide INFORMATION that is useful and not a bunch of meaningless DATA.

Re: View all servers with temperature

many thanks for your answers.

we have cooling problems on a serverroom.

now, I wants to have an easy way to show how is the temperature on every server. I will have the possibility to see every server with the current temperature. I do not want some green icon, because if the temperature ascending, so I can handle before the icons would be changed to red, maybe than its to late....

Re: View all servers with temperature

You should look into an environmental monitor.
