Virtualization managment software install credentials problem
HI,
I am having a problem with installing the above software pack to SIM
during the installation it is asking for the service account credentials but the username and domain are greyed out to force using the same account used for the SIM service. The problem is the username has a \ inserted infront of it and the password will not work as a result.
i've hunted high and low for the occurance of this in any config files or registry as being incorrect but havent been able to find the source of it.
the same thing occurs during a PMP install as well.
anyone come across this before ??
thanks for your help

Re: Virtualization managment software install credentials problem
Was VMM installed as part of the initial implementation of HPSIM?
You might want to try use Add / Remove programs to remove VMM.
Also make sure you drop and remove the VMM Databases.
Then you should be able to install VMM 2.01 from the latest download.
Similar applies to PMP.

Re: Virtualization managment software install credentials problem
sim was installed previously but i ran out of space on the msde which caused a java exception error i could not recover from. this has all been sim 5.0
I then removed everything, and re-installed from scratch. I tried to attach the old database but got the same java exception error so went back to a clean db
so the vmm and pmp installs should be clean, maybe i should trash the server and start again from scratch.... wont be the first time i have had to do this with sim !
