VMM Installation on a Virtual Server
I've had HPSIM 5.1 and more recently 5.2 installed on a Virtual Server. This has included PMP (4.7) and VMM (3.5).
I have got VMM on all the hosts and all is working okay. The final act was to do the HPSIM to Virtual Centre Integration.
There was a warning here about VC 2.5, which we have and HPSIM and to refer to the Troubleshooting Section User Guide. This I did and I was somewhat surprised to see that the first item listed was that installation of the VMM Pack was not supported on a virtual server.
It would have been nicer if this was a bit more clearly stated in the HPSIM guide, especially as the installation typically installs all of these components.
Is this a recent change of behaviour?
All seems to be working okay here, although I've not integrated VC. I'm also concerned that this might be behind some of the issues we've seen with VMotion when VMM is enabled.
