VPM Scanner Not Working
Here is the following error that I recieve when I go to scan a machine now.
Step 2: Enter scan name and choose a vulnerability scan definition.
Unable to connnect to VPM scanner. Check VPM Event Lists for additional details.
Bad thing is that nothing gets put in the event log, so I can't tell what is going on.
Has anyone seen this or have any ideas on how to fix it or what I should be looking for?
TIA

Re: VPM Scanner Not Working
Best I can get is going though the event log on the actual SIM box and I see these kinds of messages.
-----------------------------------------
Event Type: Error
Event Source: HP Systems Insight Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 3
akrhpsimna01: VPM Generic Internal Error: Event Name: VPM Generic Internal Error
Event description: An internal error has been detected in VPM
Summary: VPM Generic Internal Error
Explanation: Unable to connnect to VPM scanner: "(500)Internal Server Error"
-----------------------------------------
We have an encrypted proxy here at work, and VPM doesnt like that. I had a firewall rule for managementsoftware.hp.com added to not require authentication. Is there another site I need to do this for as well?
