Webjet Admin
hi,
here is my question: what is the main difference between HP SIM and HP WebjetAdmin.
I think in HP WJA I can manage my printers and in HP SIM I can manage all devices, ok, nothing new!
Well, I want to do anything in SIM but after I import, compile, modify mibs in the SIM database nothing happens till "generic ungeristered". Are there any ideas out there?
Thanks

Re: Webjet Admin
Well the different names probably give a clear indication of the differences.
HPSIM can hold information about and monitor HP Servers. Other devices can be monitored.
I'm not sure but you might find that WebJet Admin may become a plug-in for HPSIM. But this will mainly be a link to the tool from HPSIM.
I don't know why the snmp traps from the HP Printers are turning up as unregistered. You'll need to try and see if thee are any other MIB's available.

Re: Webjet Admin
As a matter of fact, HP WebJetadmin is a plugin for HP SIM 4.1.
There is a procedure to register the plugin.
I'm including the xml file needed for the plugin. (wja.xml)
Just change the url to the appropriate WebJetadmin Server name.
http://SERVER:8000/device/%n/
Please note that there are two instances of this entry. Change both.
Put this file (wja.xml) in the root of C:\ in order for the following instructions to work correctly.
After the changes mentioned above, go to a command prompt and type:
cd Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager
mxtool -a -f c:\wja.xml
After you see success message, launch HP SIM console and you will be able to see the links to HP Web Jetadmin.
On the HP SIM Menu:
Tools -> Integrated Consoles -> HP Web Jetadmin
