Windows Event ID format?

I use a third party product that watches the Windows Event Log and notifies me when certain criteria are met (redundancy failed, drive failure, etc.). I was able to find documentation for the Insight Agents that lists all of the possible Event IDs but have not found anything for the SIM.

Does a document like this exist? Are there any general guidelines I should be following?
