Working with VCA software baselines ?
In principle this works fine, however I do have some questions,
1. is there no way to edit an existing software baseline instead of having to create a new one every time you need to change it (especially in the testing period this is rather tedious) ?
2. is the only way to delete an existing software baseline to delete the xml file from the repository and rescan it ? There seems to be no gui for this function, only for adding new baselines.
3. I create a new baseline and select the default HP 7.10A W2K3 baseline first, to "copy" the settings from it, this preselects all default settings and then I can just add the newer drivers manually and remove the outdated ones. However, when selecting this new baseline as source for a testserver it does not work as expected.
Instead of flagging the new components as "yellow" it only flags a few of them as yellow, and instead removes the other ones entirely. It also removes a few of the packages not even touched, so instead of a "HP+custom settings" baseline I end up with a custom baseline that actually checks less than the HP default pack does ?
I'm a little bit confused why exactly this happens ?

Re: Working with VCA software baselines ?
That might provide a closer match to what you're wanting to see.

Re: Working with VCA software baselines ?
I am interested in your comment above - "and we have had some serious performance issues related to older drivers/firmware on especially 6xxx controllers with 1,6+ terabyte diskvolumes". From what I can see, this is referring to Windows 2003 servers?
Would you mind emailing me with your discoveries regarding this? My email address is simon.removethis.blears@riotinto.com (with the obvious edit).
Thanks,
Simon....
