APC Java Snafu and CIM 7 SP2

I recently had the fun of uninstalling APC Powerchute Business Edition version 6.x because the Java certificate was expiring. I found this out on their website three days before expiration.
The problem was much worse than not being able to monitor the UPS attached to the server. You could no longer log in to server as the APCBE agent was stuck.
After uninstalling and re-installing the new version of APC software my servers are showing a blue status indicator under HW column. I'll ask the obvious questions first:
1) Has anyone else run into this?
2) Is the solution as simple, yet time-consuming, as re-installing the management agents?
