Problem accessing UPS via Serial Cable

Currently at my company we have 2 HPE UPSR5500. We recently installed a new Management Module in one of them so that we can setup the automatic shutdown signal from the UPS.

We have done the steps from pages 19,20, and 21 of the following manual in order to connect Hyperterminal (or similar) to the Ethernet/Serial connection on the Management Module., which is supposed to allow us to then configure the IP address of the device.

https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=c00865951

We have never been able to get a signal back from the Management Module in the Terminal Emulation program, despite having tried multiple computers, terminal emulators, etc. We do the step of pressing the reset button and waiting 5 seconds for the POST, and nothing happens.

If anyone knows of why this might be happening, or any workarounds including and default IP settings or passwords for the admin console so that we can avoid the Serial route altogther that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!!!
