Raid controller related inquiries
I'm currently using a server with the following specs, and I have a question about the Raid controller.
HP DL380 Gen10 , HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10 , HPE 96W Smart Storage Li-ion Battery
1. When a raid controller fault occurs, can the data on the disk be damaged or lost?
2. Is the RAID information of the disk stored in the raid controller? Or is it stored in the BIOS?
3. If the raid information is stored in the raid controller, can the data loss occur because the raid information is lost in case of a raid controller fault?
4. Are there any things to note before replacing the raid controller?

Re: Raid controller related inquiries
Hello,
There is no data saved on the RAID controller.
The data is stored on the hard drives.
There is no data loss situation in case of RAID controller failure. You can replace the faulty one without worrying for the data loss.
Thanks,
TAM
