I wanted to open a discussion covering a few random, but commonly encountered HPE topics that I’ve recently been working on. I believe many of us run into these in our day-to-day operations, so I’d appreciate your experiences, best practices, and any tuning recommendations.

1. HPE ProLiant Gen11/Gen12 – Performance Tuning in Mixed Workloads

Has anyone fine-tuned ProLiant servers for mixed environments (database + virtualization + storage workloads)?
I’m particularly curious about:

• BIOS tuning for latency-sensitive workloads
• SR-IOV vs. standard virtualization
• Memory interleaving and NUMA optimization

Any real-world benchmarks or tips you noticed during production deployments?

For those working with Aruba CX switches:

• How stable has VSF been in large campus deployments?
• Any known caveats when mixing 6200F and 6300/6400 models?
• Best practices for multi-chassis redundancy with VSX?

3. HPE MSA / Alletra SAN Environments – Latency Patterns

Recently I’ve been comparing latency behaviour between:

• Alletra 5000/6000/9000/MP series

StoreOnce dedup ratios vary widely depending on workload, but I’m curious:

5. iLO6/iLO7 – Security Hardening & Automation

Has anyone implemented:

• Automated firmware baselines
• Advanced audit logging
