Configuring Flow Control for two site configuration
Hi people,
We have a two site Lefthand P4500 cluster, but one of the sites has not been setup for flow control on the storage system managment groups. The cluster is now in production serving 5 vSphere 4.1 ESXi hosts in each site running many virtual machines.
How can we setup flow control so they match each other at each site with minimal downtime.
In the "Servers" - "Volumes and Snapshots" view/tab, can one quarantee that the gateway connections to each volume are 1 to 1 relationship?
i.e. volume 1 <-----> 4000N1
Thanks in advance

Re: Configuring Flow Control for two site configuration
Downtime depends on how you've set it up. If you have configured two sites and network raid 10 for your volumes, you can take one site offline without any downtime.
About perfomance issues with flow control, this was mentioned in last patch set 4 (release some days ago):
Large multi-site SAN clusters where Ethernet flow control is not configured now no longer experience degraded performance with SAN/iQ 9.0 because of network flow control issues.
