Add a few Disk Array to RAID 5
Hi, I need some help to configure three HD hot plug SCSI to RAID 5.
I have the next hardware/software characteristics:
WINDOWS SERVER 2003.
HP PROLIANT ML 370.
ARRAY CONTROLLER ULTRA320 SCSI.
3 HD (36.4,72.8,72.8). (Whithout RAID Conf.)
I know that the auto-configuration process automatically runs when you boot the server for the first time. During the power-up sequence, the system ROM automatically configures the entire system without needing any intervention. During this process, the ORCA utility automatically configures the array to a default setting based on the number of drives connected to the server.
The problem is that this is not the first time i boot the sistem, what can i do to recover automatic ORCA configuration setup??
Thanks.

Re: Add a few Disk Array to RAID 5
Miguel,
You have a few issues here, one of which is that you have mixed drive sizes. In this case a RAID5 array will effectively use 3 x 36.4GB and you will end up with 72GB of usable space. You should read the following PDF to get a better understanding of RAID and then come back with any further questions.

Re: Add a few Disk Array to RAID 5
Press F8 button during POST (when array controller reads array configuration from disks).
