Anti Virus
Hey Guys,
I am in the market for some new Anti Virus software for my servers and am just wondering what others are using on the server side.
I currently have Symantec AV 10.1 running across the enterprise on over 700 servers SAN/EVA connected. Does HP prefer any AV software more than others ?
Cheers
Colin

Re: Anti Virus
Hi,
I don't think there is any preference for this or that - so up to you to decide.
Traditional security thinking is also to have multiple layers of security - for example in the use of multiple Antivirus products. However that can pose some administrative challenges...
Antivirus software vendors live by their reputation, so I think you will easily find comparative tests etc covering both their detection rate and administrative features.
One note is that if you have Itanium servers (IA64) then there are very few vendors with native IA64 support. Avast comes to mind as one of the few.
Otherwise I find the relatively new www.prevx.com quite interesting for rethinking how scanning is done.
Cheers,
Rune
