Automatic driver update
Hi
We have a W2K3 server with QLogic HBA (PCI adapter).
We have a special driver which was prepared for us by QLogic.
The problem is that sometimes this driver is overwritten by the automatic driver update feature with newer drivers of QLogic that we do not need and that are not good for us.
Is there a way to block the automatic update only for this specific driver?
Thanks,
Michael

Re: Automatic driver update
Michael:
If you're talking about the driver updates from Microsoft Windows Update website, I would simply block them globally. I've seen them break more systems than fix them.
BTW, I believe they're blocked by default. Has someone set the server up to grab driver updates automatically? Or are they coming from QLogic?
My W2K3 Server has SP1 installed so maybe it behaves a little differently than yours.
Make a great day!
