AXL300 SSL errors
I have a DL380 G3 running Windows Server 2003. It originally had an AXL300 SSL accelerator card. The card was removed and the uninstall was run for the software. The problem I have are errors in the Application log:

This single request will be processed by software.
I realize the AXL300 is not supported on Windows Server 2003 but we didn't know that in Feb of 2003 when it was installed. Is there a way to manually remove the drivers and programs?

Re: AXL300 SSL errors
The atldm amd atmwms event sources belong to the Atalla software that was installed with the AXL card.
So, obviously it is not completely uninstalled...
Looking in the user manual for Win2K uninstall is listed as a 3-step process
1) Uninstall the hardware
2) Uninstall the software
3) Uninstall the hardware
1) Control Panel> Add/Remove HW > Colusa WDM Miniport Driver V1.0 in the list of devices.
2)Control Panel> Add/Remove SW> Compaq/Atalla AXL300 > "Yes to all"
3) Shutdown server> Remove the AXL card
Cheers,
Rune

Re: AXL300 SSL errors
It has been a while since I removed the AXL300 (Oct. 2003) but I did follow the book. Everything seemed to go OK accept the Add/Remove Programs step failed. I reran the install program but it did not give me the usual: modify, repair, or uninstall dialog. I did find a standalone uninstall in Start-All Programs-Atalla-AXL300 HMMO Uninstallation. That seemed to run without error. At that point I thought all was well. The Start-All Programs-Atalla menu was now empty so I deleted it from Start-All Programs. It was only later (1 year or 2 later) that I first noticed the string of error messages from â atldmâ and â atmwmsâ .
I have two AXL300 cards in Windows Server 2003 servers. I just checked one of them and it seems to be working OK, even though it is not supported. I guess the lack of support rears itâ s ugly head when you try to uninstall it :-).
Any other ideas? All three of these servers are high profile boxes. The one I removed the card from is our SMTP gateway/SPAM filter. The two still running the AXL300 cards are our Exchange server and our ISA server used to publish Outlook Web Access. It worries me that my email system is running with unsupported hardware but I'm too chicken to remove them with the problems I'm having on this box.
