Backup error in windows 2003 server with DDS4
Dear all,
When using NT backup by using OS default utility i am getting error in last time as follows,
"Error: c: is not a valid drive or you do not have access."
detail report is,"The device reported an error on a request to write data to media
Error report: Invalid cpmmand
This may be a hardware or media problem.please check the system event log for details.
Even after replaced by new Hp DDS4 error is still there. Previous one was SonyDDS4. Pls give the solutions.
Regards,
Ravi S

Re: Backup error in windows 2003 server with DDS4
Does backing up to a file on a harddisk work?
Possibles
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817688/en-us
(fixed in SP1 for Windows 2003)
A number of other problems also fixed in SP1...
Is the Removable Storage service started?
Are you logged in as an acocunt with enough permissions (Admin or Backup Operator).
- The error message (assuming drive C: exists) points to a possible permission problem.
Check the event logs and backup log for more error events that could give clues to the cause.
Cheers,
Rune
