backup fails before tape replacement

hi,
I have a Windows 2003 entperise server (build 3796.srv03_rtm.030324-2048) on an intel pentium III (xeon) proccessor.
i'm using NTBACKUP for backing up files.
i have a problem, that when I run a regular file backup, when the first tape ends and i expect to switch to second tape, the backup finish unexpectedly with no error message.
does anyone has any idea (patches etc?)
