Hello Morten:

I think the best you can hope for is that Windows 2000 drivers will work:

They usually do.

Re: dc7600, driver for windows server 2003

Dear Roger,

I have tried different driver, including windows 2000, but I can't get the network up running.
I think I need a specific driver for windows server 2003, but have not been able to find it.

Re: dc7600, driver for windows server 2003

Igor,

Thanks for the thread - but I can't still get the network up running.

I have chekked everything:

1. cable: the green led on the networkadaptor is on, no light/flash in the yellow led.
2. In the device manager, Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet properties, tab = General it is stated that this device is running properly.
3. Driver details = Broadcom, date = 15.05.2006, version = 9.52.0.0
4. I have a switch (10/100? MB), but this should be supported by the NetXtreme Gigabit card.

Any other advice is appreciated.

Re: dc7600, driver for windows server 2003

Morten,
Try to set NIC speed to 100 Mb instead "Auto".
It's maybe faulty motherboard issue as well-I see this in one DC7100 we receive two months before.

We have many DC7100 with windows 2003 installed - no problems (we use Broadcom 8.39 version)

Morten:

Did you set TCP/IP to use DHCP? Does it get an address from the DHCP server (run IPCONFIG /ALL)?

Re: dc7600, driver for windows server 2003

Roger,

1. Yes - TCP/IP are set to use DHCP?

2. I am not getting an address from the DHCP server (the yellow led on the network card is not on - so I am not connected).

3. I have tried to uninstall Windows server 2003 - by HP restore Plus - so I have now only Windows XP prof-. installed. I have still the same problem - that I can't connect to the network.

Proberly this is an error in the motherboard?

Re: dc7600, driver for windows server 2003

I know this seems trivial, but check the cable. With networking issues, my rule of thumb is that it is always the cable.

I went through this with a Solaris server a few years ago, where I brought the system down, moved it to another building, and brought it back up. I thought I must have made a mistke when changing the IP address, because I couldn't get it to connect to the network.

After many hours of troubleshooting, I finally called my boss (on a Saturday), and he drove in. To my horrible embarrasment, he changed the cable, and had it working in 5 minutes! Keep in mind that this was a cable that had been working for months in the previous location. I was sure this cable had to be good.

Unless you can swap cables with another working system and not change the problem, assume that the cable is bad.

Re: dc7600, driver for windows server 2003

Dear Peter,

Tank you for your hint. I have already checked the cable by switching the PC to another new cable.

I have the green led on the network card on, but still not the yellow.

I spoke to HP support Denmark today - they will post me a new motherboard. I hope this will solve the problem, I have already used/loosed almost 2 days now.
