while doing diskclean up we are getting an option compress old files... by selecting that will create any impact on application side? if it compresses any application related files which is used by application ... any suggestion

Hi Kumar,

Yes, compressing files can impact the application. The OS then has to decompress a file before it can read/write.

You may have more luck manually compressing folders that you know the application does not use. To do this, right click a folder and select "Properties." Click Advanced, then select "Compress to save disk space."
