DL580 Bluescreen Issue
I've got a DL580g2. There are 2 non-hotswap slots and multiple hotswap slots. All hotswap slots are in use. When installing a QLogic 23xx series card in the non-hotswap slot the OS starts, but during the OS startup, the server blue screens. It can even bluescreen after login when trying to install drivers for the card. This error is recreatable using different QLogic cards. There are other QLogic cards installed in hotswap slots and they're working fine.
Thanks in advance.....

Re: DL580 Bluescreen Issue
Hi Dino,
If you've tried both non-hotswap slots and get the sme problem, it would appear that it it is a hardware incompatibility between the cards and the interrupts/memory addressing of theose 2 slots.. are there any firmware updates you can apply?

If you can keep your head whilst all around you are losing theirs... You haven't understood the situation!

Re: DL580 Bluescreen Issue
Haven't done so yet. I did apply a BIOS update. Slot two comes with the standard issue dual port Network adapter. I had the QLogic installed in slot one. These are the two standard slots. I pulled the NIC and installed the QLogic in slot two and it worked fine. I'll have one more QLogic card to put in slot one in a couple weeks. If it fails again, then I'm going to assume a hardware problem. If it works then it might be an issue with a downstream neighbor(slot1) not being compatible with a slot 2 card if the latter is not identical or similar in architecture. We'll see...
Thanks for the input.
