Downgrade for Itanium Box

Hi
I have a Rx1620 with 2 processor installed, I need downgrade this server to 1 processor installed only. I need reinstall my Windows 2003 server ?

You shouldn't have to re-install windows. Before you remove the processer, you probably should change the processor type in the Device Manager so that Windows thinks it is running on only 1 processor. When you bring it back up, it would only have 1 proc so everything should be a-ok.

I am not an itanium expert so I can't say for sure. Never even worked with an Itanium box before. I speak by experience of Intel 32bit CPU's only. Windows may handle that a bit differently.

Sorry, I need take off one that processor installed in my Itanium BOX, when I talk about to downgrade, The think is leave my box with only one processor, with the same speed an type ?
