Linux and ML370 G5

I want to install Linux On ML370 G5
But smartstart cd version 7.91 not supporting linux as operating system.

I need driver for HP smart array P400 to enbale the Hard disk device ( CCISS ) when installing Linux without Smartstart CD7.91

Which Linux version ?
HP support RedHat and SUSE
